50,Nifty, United States..

For some reason today I'm feeling extra patriotic. We have fifty states, each with their own natural beauty, talented professionals, and beautiful weddings. So, I've decided to take on a different state each day and showcase a wedding/event from each. On top of that I'll be featuring photographers, bakers, florists, etc from that state. A lot of other wedding sites feature gorgeous weddings but only from the popular states like California, Florida, New Jersey, or Texas. They don't always give ample love to weddings in Kansas, Wisconsin or even Montana. I want to change that!
So get ready this summer to tour the good ole USA with Shabina Says So!
Now I just have to figure out where to start. As always, if you want your wedding or other event to be featured on Shabina Says So, email ShabinaSaysSo@yahoo.com with photos and your story (and your state!)

Spark It Up!

Ali & Andy's destination wedding in South Florida was nothing short of spark-tacular!! Any wedding that has fireworks is a hit with me...but to make it even better, the fireworks were a surprise to the couple! But it didn't stop there, the couple's big day was full of equally big surprises. Jeff Kolodny did an amazing job capturing all the priceless moments of this lavish event.
This beautiful wedding took place at the landmark properties of Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort. The gorgeous grounds offer plenty of options for planning a wedding. Ali & Andy chose to have their ceremony overlooking the water and it was certainly the right location! Choosing to have an evening wedding outdoors isn't common place, but in this venue it was nothing short of breathtaking. The chuppah was decked out in lights and flowers that made it look like it was straight out of a fairytale.

As the couple had their first kiss as husband and wife, fireworks went off in the background. The perfect start to their lives together! And of course the ultimate kick-off to a fabulous night of celebrating. Can you imagine how surprised the newlyweds were as they saw the night sky be light up by surprise fireworks?! That's definitely a once in a lifetime moment!

After the vows were exchanged and the fireworks went off, it was time to start off the reception! Ali's father, Neil Goldberg, is the founder of Cirque Productions based in Pompano Beach, so you know the rest of the night was going to be an event in itself. He was able to create a world of lavish fantasy for his daughters wedding, teaming up with Designs by Sean to make his vision a reality.Annette Winkler of the Fairmont Turnberry Isle did a stellar job of coordinating all the details for the events of the evening. Everything from the cocktail hour to the ceremony to the reception went off without a hitch!! Enough of the talking, let's get to the pictures. Get ready to ooh & ahh...I sure did!
Remember how I said in the beginning the night was full of surprises? Neil certainly outdid himself with the fireworks, only to shock his daughter & son-in-law again with a surprise after-party following their reception!! When the clock struck twelve the doors to another ballroom swung open to reveal a more South Beach feeling after-party. This is definitely a set up after my own heart. Guests were greeted with a ton of more fabulous comfort foods including hot dogs, french fries & churros! Yum!
This wedding was one for the books without a single doubt. Everything sparkled, glittered and shined without it being super girlie! Many thanks to Jeff Kolodny again for doing such an epic job of capturing all the moments! I'm utterly impressed by his skill.

Two Weddings..Fabulous

Today is all about doubles. The feature wedding is in fact two weddings! That's right the bride & groom had two big days (lucky in love for sure!) This feature is doubley special because it is A- in honor of Memorial Day...and B- the lovely couple are in fact very good friends of mine.

Here's the fabulous & fierce story behind Mandi & Patrick's wedding(s):
Most of this will be pictures, because Mandi loves herself some pictures, and honestly, I think their wedding pictures just say so much about them. There 1st wedding, in my opinion, was soo them! They married on the beach on base at sunrise.

It was a simple ceremony with just their maid of honor and best man there while they said there vows....oh & of course the Marines in the background doing P.T. for the morning.
Mandi & Patrick really had the simple beach wedding down pat. It was casual and all about them!

First kiss as a married couple with a beautiful view of the ocean in the background. How perfect!!
And no, I don't think I've ever seem a wedding picture as heartfelt as this one. I dare you to try to find one. Can you just feel the love?!?

The newlyweds had their second wedding when they returned home to good ole Michigan over the winter. They had a reception with their friends and family. Mandi ditched the white dress, opting for the dress she wore to the Marine Ball, and Patrick wore his dress blues.

How sweet of a wedding gift is that...a monogram ice sculpture!! Hands down sweetest present without a doubt!

Now let's get into all the perfect details...and let me tell ya, there sure were a lot!

The tablescapes look nothing short of amazing. Did you notice the orchid at every setting? To die for! The candy bar...before sweet bars were "in". Yep, Mandi was a trendsetting bride and made it look oh so easy. The little details of both weddings are definitely what made both days so special. Fun fact, after their intimate beach wedding, the newlyweds enjoyed their first meal as a married couple....pizza!

The best aspect of Mandi & Patrick's wedding(s) is that they stayed true to who they are. So many times couples get caught up in making everyone else happy or turning their wedding into something "big" when that's not really what they like. Remember your wedding day..or days...is/are about you and your fiance. Keep it real, keep it heartfelt, keep it love-filled....and as always, if you can have 2 days go for it!
